Brandel Chamblee and Brad Faxon in awkward standoff over Brooks Koepka’s Ryder Cup fate

On Sunday, Brooks Koepka’s PGA Championship victory put him in elite company. He is now one of twenty players with five major championships. He also joins Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players to have won three PGA Championships in the stroke play era.

After the tournament on Golf Channel, Brandel Chamblee and Brad Faxon were discussing the 2023 Ryder Cup and the possibility of Koepka being on the U.S. team. After his win, the 33-year-old now sits 2nd in the Ryder Cups points list, making him an automatic pick.

Chamblee argued for why Koepka shouldn’t be able to play, saying during the debate that it would be a slap in the face to the players who stuck with the PGA Tour and didn’t take the LIV money. While Faxon said Koepka should play because he’s “representing his country, not his tour,” leading to this exchange:

The exchange was a bit awkward, with Chamblee repeating what Faxon had said a few times before they both went silent.

Chamblee is so wrong. So wrong. Golf is competed around the world. Who is Brandel to be Holier than Jesus?

Ryder is admin by PGA of America, not by PGA TOUR. ANd by PGA affiliates in Europe. If Brookie is good enough to play in The PGA Champ, there is no argument to ban him from Ryder. Oh, ny the way, he WON the PGA Champ, in case Chamblee missed it.

Chamblee has always been s bumbling idiot.
