DP World Tour pro hilariously drops own ball in the water at Indian Open

DP World Tour pro Kiradech Aphibarnrat took a drop, looked away, and his ball was gone…

Kiradech Aphibarnrat was seen dropping his own ball into the water during the third round of the Indian Open, but thankfully it led to no further penalty strokes.

Aphibarnrat went long with his approach shot from the bunker on the par-5 8th and his ball unfortunately bounded into the water.

The four-time DP World Tour winner was then forced to take a drop from there to play his fifth shot.

But as he went about taking his drop, he looked away only to realise his ball had found the water.

Thankfully because his ball had rolled back into the penalty area, he was able to re-take his drop without suffering further penalty.

Sky Sports Golf on-course announcer Inci Mehmet confirmed what happened in the video below.

Aphibarnrat went on to get up and down for a bogey six.

But he would end up signing for a dismal 78 on another brutal day of scoring at the Indian Open.

It tumbled the Thai player down the board to 4-over par in T15.

The DLF G&CC is typically renowned as being one of, if not the toughest golf course on the DP World Tour’s rota each season.
