How to Apply to Play in a U.S. Championship

Believe it or not you don’t have to be a scratch golfer to take your game to the big stage.  All across the U.S. golfers are playing in qualifying tournaments with hopes of making their dreams come true to play for titles such as the US Senior Men’s/Women’s Championship, Jr. Amateur Champ, Mid-Am Champ and more.

Although most entries are closed for the remainder of the year for U.S. events we wanted to help point you in the right direction of how to apply for next year so you too can represent SOCAL.

Step 1 – Visit the USGA.org application page by clicking HERE.

Step 2 – Review the list of available tournaments and be sure to notate the entry deadlines, age and Handicap Index requirements.

Step 3 – Choose the best one for you and get started.

Step 4 – You will have to review some eligibility and other contractual authorization pages, so read and proceed.

Step 5 – Note that each tournament comes with an entry fee (ex. $150).

Step 6 – Complete the online application form (you’ll need your GHIN number handy).

Step 7 – Complete and start prreparing!

Step 8 – Compete and win!
