“It gives me goosebumps” Greg Norman reveals big LIV Golf plan at the Masters

Greg Norman says his 18 LIV Golf players will do THIS at The Masters…

Greg Norman says his LIV Golf players plan to surround the 18th green on the 72nd hole at The Masters should any of their players be in contention for the famous Green Jacket on Sunday.

Norman has revealed the idea of having all 18 of his LIV Golf players there to support a LIV Golf League player en route to winning The Masters gives him “goosebumps”.

“There’s talk in our teams all around here, there are 18 or us LIV guys at Augusta and if one of the guys, no matter who it is, they are all going to be there on the 18th green, they are all going to be there, and that just gives me goosebumps to think about,” Norman told NewsCorp.

“When you walk up 18, your caddy hugs you then you see your wife or your mum and dad. Now to have those 17 other guys there, that’s the spirit we want.

“That’s what these guys talk about. They are saying no matter who wins, no matter who is in that position, we are going to be there, and that just gives me goosebumps to think about.”

There will be 18 LIV Golf League players competing in The Masters, including Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka.

We’ve been assessing the chances of each of the LIV Golf players ahead of golf’s first major of the year in Georgia.

LIV Golf players who are eligible will be able to compete in each of the four major championships in 2023, and Norman, a two-time major winner himself, applauds those decisions especially at Augusta National.

“I complement The Masters on letting the players play because now they have got the best field and they are actually now the true Super Bowl,” added Norman, who believes his star names will contribute to inflated TV ratings at The Masters.

“But if I’m the Masters right now, I would want, on Sunday, DJ or Brooks or Cam, any of the guys against Rory (McIlroy) and Jon Rahm. Can you imagine what the TV ratings would be like?

“It’s what people want, It’s what the TV wants. The ratings will be far higher than any other ratings if you’ve got Rory playing any one of our top guys.”

As for their chances of landing a Masters win, Norman is confident.

“They are so focused. We got these green speeds up around 13 right now, they’ll be a little bit quicker tomorrow, so they’re working their way into next week, but next week, it’s going to be a washout,” said Norman.

“The golf course is going to soften, and suit a couple of my boys. It’s going to be a big, long carry golf course. You know, Cam carries the ball a long way, DJ, Brooks too.”

LIV Golf’s Joaquin Niemann started the mind games last week when explaining his extra motivation for playing well at The Masters because he believes those on the PGA Tour “hate” LIV Golf.

So LIV members will support LIV members BUT not others? YUP that sends a message. Perhaps minorities should do the same?
YUP that is growing the game . . . NOT
Sportsmanship is about supporting all players

I hope they get a chance to demonstrate their separatism and are NO LONGER WELCOME IN FUTURE YEARS

I’m happy that the LIV golfers are at the Master’s, they earned it and it’s certainly possible the someone like DJ or Cam could win it. However, if a LIV golfer should win that will not add one ounce of credibility to LIV golf………..LIV did not make those golfers any better and it could be argued that playing 54(no cut) holes against lesser competition may have hurt them but CERTAINLY has not made them better players. LIV golf has not “grown the game”, only made it more contentious and no matter what happens at the Masters LIV will still be a 2nd rate form of golf entertainment and competition.
