Jason Dufner smashes his putter against the flagstick at Wyndham Championship

Jason Dufner loses his cool on day two at the Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour.

There was once a time when Jason Dufner was considered one of the most laidback golfers not just on the PGA Tour, but the planet. Not anymore.

Dufner missed a putt earlier in his second round and after tapping down some spike marks while his caddie put the flagstick back in the cup, he decided to whack his putter up against the flagstick in frustration. (video below)

Despite his mini tantrum, Dufner is having a good day in the second round at Sedgefield Country Club as he is currently 4-under par thru 11 holes and 3-under par for the tournament, albeit some way off the top of the leaderboard.

The 2013 US PGA champion will need to keep his foot down this week though, as he is currently well outside the projected top 125 in the standings to progress into the FedEx Cup Playoffs starting next week.

Here’s how golf fans reacted on social media to Dufner’s rage:

“Should have just javelin tossed the flag.”

“Maybe he didn’t use enough dude wipes.”

“Blimey, calm down Jason!”

“Oh of course it was the spike marks, which you can tap down before you take a putt. Got to love some of their reactions when they miss a putt these days!”

“Duff needs to throw a hammer in and he’ll chill out.”

“Dude needs to hit the gym.”

“Who dressed that guy?”
