Jon Rahm holed out for eagle at the 18th to snatch a share of the lead with Bryson DeChambeau ahead of the final round of LIV Golf Adelaide. (video below)
The two-time major champion’s electric two on the par-four 18th at The Grange lifted the Spaniard to a 54-hole score of 19-under par.
He will play in the final group alongside the 2024 U.S. Open champion, who thrilled the Australian crowd with an eight-under 64.
Anthony Kim, Peteir Uihlein, Tyrrell Hatton and home hopes Cameron Smith and Lucas Herbert are also inside the top-10 with 18 holes remaining.
“I would say it might be the most impressive thing I’ve done all week, which is pull it that far left twice, hit the cart path twice, and end up on the 10th tee twice,” Rahm told reporters of his eagle. “The odds of that are pretty low.”
He added: “It was a really good number, 62 meters into the wind, trying to land it about six, seven short.
“Obviously executed it pretty well, and the rest is what you all saw. I’m not really expecting to make it.
“I’m hoping to hit it close, but obviously ended up with the grand prize on that one.”
