Jon Rahm’s caddie Adam Hayes gets struck in the face at The Open

Jon Rahm’s caddie Adam Hayes was struck in the face by a golf ball hit by fellow LIV Golf pro Andy Ogletree at the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.

The unfortunate moment was captured by NCG’s Hannah Holden as LIV Golf quartet Rahm, Ogletree, David Puig and Phil Mickelson played the 6th hole.

Ogletree was seen hitting a wedge shot from deep rough left of the green.

Hayes tried to get out of the way of the shot but ended up jogging straight into the ball. (video below)

Rahm spoke to the media at Troon on Tuesday.

He cracked a joke about England after his native Spain won Euro 2024 on Sunday.

Then he revealed how a complication with his wife’s pregnancy could affect his plans to compete in DP World Tour events later this season.

The team over at GolfMagic caught up with Sky Sports Golf’s Paul McGinley earlier in the day.

The former European Ryder Cup captain had some strong words surrounding Rahm’s shock $600m move to LIV Golf at the end of 2023.

McGinley considers Rahm is one of the lead players who will be most hoping the PGA Tour and LIV Golf get a deal done.

The Irishman thinks Rahm will have wanted to have played in the Scottish Open last week to best prepare for links golf at The Open.

Instead, he was forced to compete at LIV Golf Andalucia at Valderrama, a completely different test of golf.
