Justin Thomas wants one LIV player to “have the balls” to admit this

Justin Thomas says he wishes just one LIV Golf Invitational series player “would have the balls” to say they are playing for the money as he explained why he feels “saddened” and “betrayed” by the PGA Tour defectors.

Thomas recently hopped on the No Laying Up podcast where he spoke about winning his second major at the US PGA Championship at Southern Hills.

According to Thomas, that lone major trophy he had in his cabinet was starting to look a bit lonely as the years went on but now, he’s looking at adding to that collection.

Of course, Thomas couldn’t escape the podcast without being asked about the situation regarding the LIV Golf Invitational series and the PGA Tour’s response to it.

It seems as if every single day there is a new development.

Brooks Koepka spent the better part of the last year saying how he wasn’t planning on going anywhere. Then his opinion changed, man.

Is Thomas worn out by all of the drama?

Thomas told the podcast: “Yeah …I would. Yeah, exhausted… annoyed. I’m over it, for sure.”

Then he explained: “It’s tough and I never thought I would be laying in bed so many nights thinking about this freakin’ tour and what’s going on and all of this stuff.

“I go back and forth in how involved I should be, how involved I shouldn’t be, what I should say, what I shouldn’t say, what I want to say and what I know I can’t say and back and forth of all these different things.”

Thomas said he wished some players didn’t make the jump over to LIV Golf.

He added that he “still thinks that way”.

Thomas pointed to an article written by Jimmy Dunne that summed up how he feels about it all.

Thomas said: “I understand they’re [the LIV Golf players] being fed everything what to say and all this stuff, but it’s just … for them to say that this is all for the betterment of the game … I mean, to be perfectly honest I just wish one of them would have the balls to say, ‘I am doing this for the money.”

“Like, I personally would gain a lot more respect for that but it’s just the more they keep talking, the players keep talking and saying this is for the betterment of the game the more agitated and irritated I get about it.”

Thomas pointed to the fact he has spent less than 10 years on the PGA Tour and feels “very strongly” about this situation so he wonders how strongly players like Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods feel.

The two-time major champion said that he thinks McIlroy and Woods feel “betrayed and hurt” by the developments in professional golf.

“I do a little bit,” said Thomas. “The more and more I think about it the more agitated and annoyed I get with the guys that have done it again.”

“But so be it, they took their money and the Saudis reached their number. But, like I’ve said, I grew up my entire life wanting to play the PGA Tour and play in Ryder Cups and Presidents Cups.”

Thomas described the whole situation as “sad”.

The 29-year-old was asked to explain why he and other PGA Tour members would feel betrayed.

He told the podcast: “It hurts our tour, and it hurts us. So, I mean, that’s the thing, I heard someone that brought up a good point; I’m sure at some point some kind of lawsuits will be going and if any of those guys that left to go play the other tour sue the tour, they are suing me, they are suing Rory, they are suing Tiger, they are suing every single one of us that they’ve looked in the face, looked in the eyes and played rounds of golf with, played on cup teams with, shared moments with and they are suing us.”

“To me, that’s where a little bit of the betrayal and the upsetting and sad feelings come from. Again, they are clearly doing what they feel is best for them so they are going to continue to go down that route in terms of lawsuits and whatnot.”

“When someone said it that way it kind of hit home.”

So, because the LIV players don’t do what he wants or do things that he would do, they are wrong? Maybe he should just worry about the type of pants he’s going to wear..beige or tan? Joggers or loose fit? You know .. the important stuff that the announcers talk about. It’s by like listening to a liberal telling people they should support BLM and if u don’t, u must be a bigot..
    Stay in your lane Justin

    JOSE LUIS PAREDES PRAHL

They did it for money, now we can see who loves the game and who loves the money, cut the ridiculous excuses, there is nothing new at the PGA, everybody know what to do to be the best player not the big money men.

Money or not, the PGA is more to blame than all the others. They thought they would control their “slaves” by threatening suspension and a lifelong ban. What the PGA needs to consider in the coming tournaments are you going to put asterisks on the winners?? After all, some of the better players (just count the majors between them), due to those that compete and win not going against the best?? Go back a few years, what would it have looked like if the PGA would have lost some of the best players during their prime, Nicklaus, Trevino, Palmer, Player, Tiger, Watson, or Payne Stewart. I’m sure there are and will be a lot of good players to come, but right now the BEST are not playing against the BEST. Maybe in the near future, we will have 2 #1’s, how will history compare the players. He just won the Genesis Open, but he didn’t play against some of the most dominant players of his time? Ask yourselves, how much of Korn Ferry tournaments do you watch-oops I feel the PGA has dropped down to the Korn Ferry status. Let’s face it, Those guys are good and the very reason you have tv coverage but golf without them will be just another boring broadcast especially if we have to continue to listen brandel chamblee, he can entertain us with how he won his single tournament. Prediction, PGA and LIV Golf merge

Players like Phil who has made 700 million dollars on the PGA shouldn’t be called slaves. I sure the slaves would have been happy to get any money.

But IT IS for the betterment of the GLOBAL game, a game that should never have been hijacked by the Yanks, there should never have been a set standard to make 3 “majors” in the US or whatever that means, when sports like FOOTBALL, that is, soccer, is totally global, and so is Tennis, and Golf should be done the same way, but the Yanks are so hung up on their so-called “tradition” but that tradition didn’t even exist before the game of golf was turned into an “Elitist American Past-Time.”
If anything Thomas should shut his trap completely, having grown up on a private course and never having had to pay for golf or even for balls at the range FFS.
I hope Thomas reads this, somebody please forward it to that clown.
What he should do, is take this opportunity by the reins and get on top of it, and UNIFY everybody instead of whining and acting like a child with these stupid immature things he keeps saying at these interviews. What he should do is unify all of Golf, strip the current system, copy the Tennis one and the FIFA one and make it a completely global game with global stature and qualifications and global majors placed in 5 countries. That’s what he should be doing, to help GROW the game globally, and be an Ambassador for that, and become a hero for unifying the world.

Golfers who stay with the PGA will benefit from having less competition and knowing that they are not supporting a country that has sponsored terrorism around the world, including 9/11 in the USA.

Pretty funny, I was watching that superstar Chad Ramey in the John Deere.. the announcers were as boring as ever. And they showed a close up of rameys Nike shoes. Made by that country that promotes great human rights, China.
Yet people and players bitch about the LIV players wanting to make some money.

How about a story on the hypocrisy at some point? Nah, not by any of the media clones and robots..or players like Thomas for that matter..
