PGA adds a golf retail center and entertainment complex to its Texas plans

Just weeks after starting work on its new headquarters, the PGA of America is moving ahead with other plans for its new Frisco, TX campus.

Developers working with the prestigious sports group moving to Texas from Florida have filed plans with the state for a retail and entertainment center.

The Omni PGA-Golf Experience Retail will include five retail buildings and an open stage on PGA Parkway, south of U.S. Highway 380, according to details in the filing.

The 27,000-square-foot project won’t start construction until next year and would open in late 2022.

San Francisco-base SB Architects, which is also doing the adjoining Omni PGA Golf Resort and Spa, will design the project, which is being developed by Omni Stillwater Woods Golf Resort LLC.

Last month, the PGA broke ground on its 106,622-square-foot office building, designed by architect Page Southerland Page.

The office building, resort hotel and retail center are part of the 660-acre PGA Frisco campus, which includes two golf courses.
