PGA Tour pro makes wild accusation against his own tour while attacking reporter

Two-time PGA Tour winner James Hahn is not shy of making his views public, and once again took to Twitter to bite against a PGA Tour player.

The 41-year-old, who beat Dustin Johnson and Paul Casey in a play-off for the Northern Trust Open in 2015, is already on record as saying he hated the plans for ‘elevated’ events issued by the PGA Tour, only to then miss a players’ meeting to discuss the very subject.

This time, Hahn has jumped on a less-than-subtle bit of fishing by pro-LIV twitter account @DrunkByTheTurn who called LIV Adelaide, “Reviving a sport that’s dying.”

Eventual winner Talor Gooch had gone 10 shots clear after two rounds of the well-attended event at The Grange when the self-titled “19th Hole” posted a wind-up tweet.

Calling out another multi-tweeter in six-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa, the site posted:

The 32-year-old Californian doesn’t miss a beat on social media and was soon on the case, posting a sarcastic reply.

A bit of banter across tours – that’s all good. But then Hahn jumped on board.

In reply to Homa’s comment, Hahn re-posted a tweet from CBS golf reporter Kyle Porter, saying that the pro-PGA Tour comments are equally as galling, and that “fanboy accounts” are “not any better on the other [PGA Tour] side” while also claiming that “the PGAT is encouraging this type of behavior.”

Comments were from both sides of the fence, but @burnitallagain probably summed up some of the feeling behind Hahn’s comment. Isn’t Hahn a member of the ‘other’ side?

LIV golf…..just another golf tour that’s not in the traditional form. The sticking point….are they worthy of world ranking points? Personally I don’t think so….not for exhibitions.
