PGA Tour pro reveals he changed seats on flight to avoid another player

This PGA Tour pro has outlined his ‘beef’ with a fellow player before the Wells Fargo Championship.

Max Homa joked fellow PGA Tour pro Joel Dahmen has changed since he became a TV celebrity after appearing in the Netflix documentary Full Swing.

So much so, Homa revealed he once saw Dahmen send a water back because it had ‘three ice cubes’ instead of two.

Both players were on the same flight heading to this week’s PGA Tour event – the designated Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club – and it appears that Homa wasn’t happy with his seat.

Apparently Homa wanted to change.

He wrote:

“On the same flight to Charlotte as @Joel_Dahmen and switched to a middle seat so I wouldn’t have to sit next to him #worthit #beef”

Who is Joel Dahmen?

If you’re unfamiliar with who Dahmen is, then he’s definitely worth a follow across his social media accounts.

Dahmen now boasts a legion of fans after his appearance in the episode, which is called ‘Imposter Syndrome.’

He has an extremely interesting back story. Sadly his mother died from cancer. It led to a chaotic life of partying and drinking far, far too much.

In an unfortunate twist of fate, Dahmen was later diagnosed with testicular cancer.

At the time, he said:

“I think myself having cancer probably changed my life for the better. To not take life for granted, try your best and do all the right things. Maybe a blessing in disguise.”

After beating the disease, Dahmen pursued a career in professional golf. His best friend – Geno Bonnalie – is his caddie and it was him who appeared to believe he could make to the PGA Tour.

The Netflix episode shows Dahmen’s down-to-earth demeanour, his incredible relationship with Geno and life with his other half Lona.

His self-deprecating nature is very much apparent throughout the episode.

The aforementioned Homa also features in which he said of Dahmen:

“I would say most of my adult beverage nights with Joel and with me yelling at Joel about how good he is at golf and trying to get him to realise it.”

As for the ‘beef’, apparently Dahmen had the same post drafted but Homa got there first!
