Pro gets unbelievable lucky bounce with his tee shot on the final hole at St. Andrews

Guido Migliozzi hit a contender for the luckiest shot of the year on the final hole at St. Andrews on Sunday.

The 18th hole at St. Andrews is one of the most vulnerable holes on the course. With such a wide fairway and short length, many of the professionals attempt to get there in one shot.

However, Guido Migliozzi showed how this shot can go wrong when he hit his driver on his 72nd hole of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. (video below)

The young Italian pushed his shot to the right towards the road, where spectators were walking and where buildings stand that look out on to the golf course.

Migliozzi’s ball took a couple of bounces on the road and it looked as though he would have to reload with a provisional with his ball being out of bounds.

However, with its last bounce, the ball bounced to the left, over the fence and back in play. The commentators couldn’t believe it and neither could Migliozzi.

The 24-year-old went on to make a miraculous birdie and finish with a round of 4-under-par. His 9-under-par total saw him finish in tied 17th place.

Migliozzi is one of the rising stars in European golf and he will be one to carry the fight for Europe at future major championships and Ryder Cups.

He has two wins to his name on the European Tour, but arguably his most impressive result came back in June when he finished tied fourth at the US Open at Torrey Pines.

The 2023 Ryder Cup is to be held at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club near Rome, so Migliozzi will be doing all he can to make sure he will be on Team Europe.
