Sergio Garcia’s time with TaylorMade appears to be over

Sergio Garcia’s time with TaylorMade appears to be over after his details were quietly scrubbed from the official website of the OEM.

Garcia re-joined TaylorMade in 2021 before the PGA Championship. At the time, he was signed alongside another prominent free agent in Tommy Fleetwood.

Now a member of the LIV Golf League, Garcia had spent 15 years with the brand before parting ways with the company in 2017.

He spent a few years testing out equipment but found himself still using TaylorMade clubs, previously telling GolfDigest:

“To be totally honest, I did enjoy a little bit of the freedom just to see what was out there and kind of pick and choose without having to give explanations to anyone. But at the same time, I found myself, even as a free agent, going back to having 10 or 12 TaylorMade clubs and the golf ball. So it made sense to talk to them and see if there was a way to get back together.”

Elsewhere, there are rumors that the brand could soon be signing LPGA Tour stars Nelly Korda and Brooke Henderson.

Henderson was on the tour staff with PING but like Garcia her details are no longer listed on the official website.

She signed a deal to play the TP5x in 2022 but it appears she will soon sign a club deal with the brand.

Whether or not Garcia’s departure from the brand is related to LIV is not known.

Several golf media outlets have previously reported on the headaches facing OEMs after the emergence of the breakaway tour.

Fellow LIV players Matthew Wolff and Dustin Johnson are still listed as TaylorMade staffers.

However, Johnson was omitted by the brand in their Christmas video as Tiger Woods conducted a carolling Rory McIlroy.

TaylorMade will release their new driver on 10 January.
