To Chop or Not – The 2017 US Open Fescue Fiasco

The fescue at Erin Hills Golf Course has become quite the leading lady at the 2017 US Open.  Players on both sides of the argument are coming out sharing their thoughts on why it should or shouldn’t be there and it all seems to be taking up a lot of attention.

One on hand I agree with the likes of Rory – they’re professional golfers and if they can’t hit a fairway then they shouldn’t be there.

On the other and I get what Brandt Snedeker is saying – it’s nuts to have to hit a ball out of basically unhittable grass and it’s going to make some pretty hefty scores.

What do you think?

Last year at Chambers Bay I was personally pretty disappointed with the course.  Not fun for spectators at the course since everything seemed so far away and not fun as a viewer from home to watch the players struggle so much.  I’m a toss up on this one but curious to know your thoughts.  Share below in the comments…
