Watch: Bryson DeChambeau fumes with LIV Golf official over ‘banter’ from UK fans
Bryson DeChambeau was accused of being ‘soft’ after footage emerged of the two-time major winner complaining to a LIV Golf official about being goaded by UK fans.
The PIF-backed league were in Staffordshire last week for their 10th event of the 2025 campaign and, unsurprisingly, the 2024 US Open champ and content king was a huge draw.
Thousands followed DeChambeau over the 54-hole tournament at JCB Golf & Country Club and, generally, the exchanges with spectators were good according to the American golfer.
But one chirp from the stands appeared to agitate DeChambeau.
“I love the banter up there,” DeChambeau could be overheard telling a figure that appears to be LIV’s chief executive Scott O’Neil as he trudged off a green. “But they can’t be saying ‘miss it, miss it.'”
The moment has been shared widely on social media and plenty of golf fans have offered their verdict.
Some suggested to DeChambeau that he was being ‘soft’.
One opined: “If you want to be part of the circus you have to put up with the clowns.”
DeChambeau faced accusations of having thin skin during his PGA Tour days.
“This is nothing,” another added. “Just wait until the Ryder Cup starts.”
This person said: “Bryson showing his true colors.”
DeChambeau ultimately finished 11th overall.
Joaquin Niemann claimed his fifth LIV title of 2025, only days after sacking his caddie and golf coach.
Jon Rahm has since declared Niemann is unquestionably one of the 10 best players in the world.
