Yani Tseng hit the most memorable shot of the day at Hazeltine, even though Amanda Doherty made an ace.
The 37-year-old five-time major winner took her shoes off on the seventh hole to wade into ankle-deep water to hit her third shot from the rough at the 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. (video below)
“She’s going to need to swing hard on this one,” noted Paige Mackenzie as Tseng gripped down to the metal on her club.
Seconds later, Tseng ball was banging off the flagstick and into the hole.
Tseng, who won this championship in 2008 and 2011, made birdie on the hole and shot 73 in the opening round to take a share of 69th. Past champions have lifetime exemptions into the field.
