LIV Golf leaderboard at the PGA Championship

Check out how all 11 players from the breakaway tour fared at the second men’s major of the year.

The second men’s major of the calendar year is in the books and England’s Aaron Rai is the latest European to get their hands on some silverware.

Rai became the first Englishman to win the PGA Championship in 107 years.

The 31-year-old produced the golf of his life down the stretch at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania on Sunday, notching five birdies to reach nine-under and win by three strokes.

It looked like we were destined to witness a play-off featuring multiple competitors but Rai closed the door emphatically with a mammoth birdie putt from 69 feet on the 17th to set up a stress-free walk down the last.

His nearest challenger was LIV Golf recruit and two-time major winner Jon Rahm.

Rahm narrowly missed out on winning the PGA Championship for the second year running.

Twelve months ago, the Spaniard was tied for the lead with three holes remaining at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte but unraveled in dramatic fashion down the stretch.

He played Green Mile in five-over and was left to lick his wounds as Scottie Schefller won what was his third major title.

Rahm played terrific golf at Aronimink last week but came up short.

He was one of 11 LIV Golf players in the field. Of the contingent, seven players made the 36-hole cut.

David Puig, Rahm, Cameron Smith, Martin Kaymer, Joaquin Niemann, Dustin Johnson and Elvis Smylie advanced to the weekend.

Thomas Detry, Tyrrell Hatton and Tom McKibbin were among those that exited the $20.5m tournament at the halfway stage.

The biggest surprise of all, though, was the performance of LIV lynchpin Bryson DeChambeau.

DeChambeau, 31, cut a frustrated and dejected figure on Thursday and Friday.

In the end, the two-time U.S. Open champion missed the cut by three strokes after carding rounds of 76-71 to finish on seven-over par.

It represented DeChambeau’s second consecutive missed cut in a major following his performance at last month’s Masters.

He will now look to bounce back at next month’s U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.
